Info
The ISM Hexadome is a massive, immersive installation designed for the Institute for Sound & Music (ISM) in Berlin. Built with six oversized projection screens and a 52-speaker spatial sound system, the structure was created to host high-level collaborations between sound and visual artists. It premiered at Berlin’s Martin-Gropius-Bau in 2018 before touring internationally to venues like the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and Ars Electronica.
As part of the team at Pfadfinderei—the studio that designed and co-developed the Hexadome. My role involved developing the 360° motion design and visual environments. The work focused on creating visuals that felt truly spatial, moving in sync with the 3D soundscapes provided by some of the most influential names in electronic music, including Thom Yorke and Brian Eno.
Collaborating Artists (Sound & Visuals):
• Thom Yorke & Tarik Barri
• Brian Eno & Peter Chilvers
• Ben Frost & MFO (Marcel Weber)
• René Löwe & Pfadfinderei
• Holly Herndon & Mat Dryhurst
• Frank Bretschneider & Pierce Warnecke
• Lara Sarkissian & JDSK
• CAO & Boris Vitazek
• Renick Bell & Rachael Cassells
